Hair care - Every strand is precious

Every strand of hair is precious, especially for me, as i have suffered hair loss for the last 3 years. However, I have learnt to control it and come to learn what products work for me.

No matter what, for me Natural products are the best and minimizing the use of shampoos, conditioners and styling with a 100 products infused with chemicals is a must. I know avoiding this is totally impossible, but reducing the frequency does help!

I have learnt a lot from my mistakes(read - trying to make my hair look good ALL THE TIME).

The most important lesson has been to let my hair be Au Naturel. I don't want to be a person that i am not, and this applies to my hair as well. So let it appear like it actually is. Dry and frizzy, yeah? I dab some oil and don't give a damn about the 'behenji' comments.

Here's what have i been doing to pamper my tresses-

Dove Hair Therapy Intensive Repair Shampoo/Serum/Mask - My goto shampoo. I like it because it doesn't dry my hair too much and is light. The conditioner doesn't do anything for me.
L'Oreal Total Repair Conditioner/Serum/Mask - I love their conditioner. . Alternate between Dove and this for the Serum and Mask.
L'Oreal Professionnel Expert Series - Absolut Repair Cellular Shampoo/Conditioner - I love this, but due to it's high price, i tend to use it only on special occassions.
The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Shampoo/Conditioner - My #1 favorite as it has no SLS/Parabens/Sulphates. I use it as often as i can, but only when i am not oiling my hair.
The Body Shop Olive Beautifying Oil - I use this daily as my hair gets very dry and this has worked like magic. This keeps my tresses less frizzy and also gives a slight glow which i love. It doesn't make my hair look oily either. Totally love it.
Meera Shikkakai Powder. I use only this along with natural shikkakai when i have oiled my hair with sesame oil or coconut oil.I generally mix half a sachet during the last round of applying shikakkai,as this tends to be very drying.I massage shikkakai on my wet hair 3-4 times, then gently and firmly rub on my scalp.
Bajaj Almond Drops - I use this occassionally and love the smell.
Parachute Coconut Oil - I use this for my regular oiling routine.
Sattvic Mehendi - for covering my grey hair.I can use this without guilt as it is purely natural and organic.I am totally against colouring and dyeing my hair.
Sesame Oil & Natural Shikkakai with herbs - I use this 4-5 times a month. This is a super tedious process involving some good exercise to my hand and arm muscles..but can't be more thankful as it provides the much needed moisture to my dry scalp.

Products I'd like to try and have heard rave reviews on

Moroccan Argon Oil
Lush Henna
BLush H'Suan Wen Hua Hair Mask

ny thing else you readers would like to suggest?

Needless to say and heard of an umpteen number of times, eating a lot of fruits of every colour and drinking gallons of water makes all the difference.

Across the blog world, I have come across some posts and nodded in agreement. Go visit them and choose what works best for you! All the best!

The Art of Quilling!

The art and craft fanatic that i am, I came across quilling a few months ago. It's a paper craft where you roll, tweeze and glue strips of paper to make basic shapes into awesome designs. You then make a personalised card or a random accessory. You just think or browse for millions of ideas - Easy! is'nt it?

I promptly bought my first slot tool and paper strips and started off with some basic designs. There has been no looking back since then. I have created numerous shapes and flowers with a lot of help from Quillers worldwide and also the WWW. There are so many ideas, shapes, designs waiting to be made.
